Police reports - how many copies?

Hi all,
I am full of questions as we embark on this (rather daunting) journey!
I have noticed that you are required to submit police reports three times - when sending docs to NVC, at medical appointment, and at the embassy.
Does this mean you need to have 3 copies of police reports? Or can you use copies for some of these cases?
Many thanks for your help in advance 😀

Ha, I think I found the exact info I needed...

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/submitting-documents-to-the-nvc.html

So, photocopied civil documents for mailing to NPC and originals to bring along to the interview - correct?
And I am guessing you can just show the police report at your medical appointment and they won't keep hold of it?
