F1 221g (Split)

Hello. Hopefully someone here can help.

I got my F1 visa application refused under 221(g) and was asked to supply additional documentation.

I am from the UK and course start date is Fall 2023.

I collected the requested 221(g) information and emailed them to londonniv@state.gov on the 1st September.

Nothing changed on my account at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/niv for more than a week and so I emailed the London embassy helpdesk at weeac_contactus+gb+info+en@visaops.net on the 12th.

The helpdesk replied and after getting a copy of my 221g refusal instruction letter told me the following,

"Thank you for providing your information. We have escalated this case to the appropriate department. This case will be investigated and you will be notified after we have found a solution."

This latest email from them had a green header containing the text "Auto Reply" and was dated the 14th.

Since then I have heard nothing at all. The status on my usvisa-info.com account is still "Refused" and was last updated on the date of my embassy interview.

Is this normal? Are the significant general delays in processing in London at the moment? Or have I done something wrong?

I emailed the helpdesk again today to see if they could suggest any other actions. As things stand I am not sure what to do.

Thank You
