Can/should an address change error be corrected?

Hi folks --

I just received a 797C (NoA) acknowledging the I-865 (Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address) I had submitted.  I'm, of course, the sponsor.

The new address was correctly captured by USCIS and the 797C was mailed to our new address.  All's well as far as that goes.

However, the 797C lists my name as both the petitioner (which I am) AND the beneficiary (which I am not).   Seems to me that the beneficiary should have been recorded as my wife's name.  On the 865 I submitted, she was listed as the "sponsored immigrant" along with her A-number.

The 797 gives a phone number to call if any of the info on the 797 is incorrect.  I called this number but was only told by the automated system to follow the instructions on the 797.

Also tried the USCIS "typo correction" page, but that doesn't support either 865 or 797 as correctable forms.

Also tried the "E-request" page, but my situation doesn't fall into any of the categories they list.

Also tried "Emma," the virtual chat assistant, but it could only refer me to the two pages above.

So -- is this worth pursuing to correct?  If so, any suggestions as to how?

Thanks in advance!

PS:  My wife has her green card.  We submitted her I-751 in May (was received by USCIS) and we're waiting on that.

Thanks, powerpuff and OldUser.

It does seem like this is a bit common.

Yes, my wife also filed an AR-11.  Still waiting for an acknowledgement on that.

I guess that I could file another I-865.  Might wait a bit to see if there are additional suggestions.

Appreciate the responses!

No worries, let us know how it goes.

If you file AR-11 online, you will get confirmation instantly, which you can save to a file or print.

In my opinion, it's cheaper and faster to file another I-865 by sending a letter then spend time on talking to USCIS and trying to get it corrected.
