I applied, interviewed and got naturalized while my I-751 is still at "Application received" stage. N-400 did not affect or got affected by my pending I-751. It's still "pending" even after naturalization.

Aren't they supposed to approve the i751 first before approving naturalization? Did you get any updates on your pending i751 ?

Online status can be safely ignored. Did you have I-751 interview? Did you get an approval letter for I-751?

Yes, sometimes this happens. You need to include copy of I-751 NOA with your N-400 and ask for combo interview in cover letter.

The worst case: you'll pass N-400 interview and will be waiting for I-751 to be approved. Not much downside because you're waiting for I-751 now anyway.

I don't believe we did that. My wife has N400 interview next week and we were planning on bringing the I751 NOA letter.

Will that effect her N400 process?

YMMV (your mileage may vary)

Bring the I-751 NOA for sure. It may be that IO doesn't even know there's pending ROC. Hopefully that's not the case.

They do have to approve the I751 first, but they can do it on the day of your N-400 interview. My husband's n-400 interview was scheduled while his I751 was still pending, and the interview letter said nothing about that. We went, together, prepared for a combo interview, just in case.  When we arrived, and they were checking him in, we mentioned the pending application. Sure enough, they approved both at once, and my husband's oath was scheduled for that afternoon! What a day it was! We had several hours to wait between the interview and the oath. During that time, his status started updating to tell him that his I751 was approved, his N400 was approved, and that his oath ceremony was scheduled,  All this while we waited in Starbucks! I hope it works out that way for you! There's definitely a chance!

Was ROC even mentioned during N-400 interview?

If not, this is not the norm, but interesting data point.

No mention at all. Pretty much the only other questions I was asked outside the civics test was the date of marriage and something about the two-year home country residency under Sec.212e (I was a Fulbright scholar)

The entire interview was under 10 minutes.

Only the N400 interview schedule. I told the IO that we have I751 pending and she invited me to her office together with my wife.

She did civic test, then few questions about I751 and then continued with N400.

Now we are waiting for the oath ceremony letter. I hope that it comes this year.

Great! Good to know they can switch it to a combo interview on the spot !
