B2 Visa as an Expat working in Europe

Hello

I'd like to know what are my chances of getting a B2 visa with my circumstances. I'm a 25 years old single man from Nigeria but I currently live as a temporary residence in the Netherlands working as a Snr. Software Engineer for about 1.7 years. I intend to visit the US this December to visit my sister to spend the holiday for 2 weeks with her, she went as a student (F1 from Nigeria) but now has her GC and while still studying to become a nurse. Since my only tie here in NL is my high-paying job, I'm curious if this would be enough to qualify as a strong tie to be granted my visa.

PS: I'll be sponsoring myself during the trip.

you can always apply but the wait time for tourist visa in Amsterdam is 192 days so u would not be able to have one for December

Interview Required Visitors (B1/B2) 192 Calendar Days

Actually, I've applied and secured a date for November but I don't feel confident I'll be able to convince the VO that my ties here especially with my job are strong enough, I've voluntarily moved the interview to next year May, hopefully, my situation would have gotten much better(whatever that would entail) and if not, I keep moving the date. I simply don't want any denial and frankly speaking, I'm not in a rush to visit the states.

In 3 years time.

If you apply for a B visa and are denied, you will be forever denied an ESTA / visa waiver privilege.

Simply not worth the risk.

You have to declare a refused visa on the ESTA application, you may or may not be denied ESTA.

When I applied and got my B2 visa as a 3rd country citizen in the UK, a colleague of mine who had the exact same job and exact same salary was denied at the same time. Only difference was I had a European (non VWP) passport and he had a Nigerian passport...

This is why I feel like I might get rejected, I'll keep resheduling my appointment date(I read I could do this upto 4 times) till I've got PR, I reckon that should help my case.

This is extremely sensible, and obviously you’ve given things much thought.   I do agree with the others though, you may have a much easier time holding out for NL citizenship so that you can travel to the US on ESTA.   Best luck whichever you decide.
