hi guys,

Last week (7/24) following JSC I e-mailed my choice of agent and printed out my fee that my wife sent the next day with overnight mail. Today, my wife called NVC again and the automatic system is still saying that my choice of agent has been generated nothing new. Should I worry. I haven't received anything from NVC and I'm sure that they received the fee. Anybody has a similar experience. Tomorrow my wife will try again to talk to an operator.

Just wait for few more days. You have emailed choice of agent and NVC should send you an email confirmation to accept your choice of agent. keep calling them daily and speak with an operator live.

It's been taking the NVC quite a while to answer e-mails lately, it might take a few weeks.

I e-mailed my choice of agent on July 19th and have not had a response yet. [On a side note I did courier the following week because of seeing the delay with others, it was received by NVC yesterday and the recorded message for our case now reflects that].

It seems that with the summer there has come a backlog - others had a way quicker response with e-mailing their choice earlier in the year.

I read another post where the person called everyday and they got a response. I never called to try to speak to an actual operator.

03/01/07 Mailed I-130 priority post to Nebraska.

06/19/07 Approved!!!

07/10/07 NVC assigned case #.

10/25/07 NVC Case Complete!!!!

01/22/08 Original Monreal interview- requested to reschedule, told 3-4 month wait.

04/17/08 Interview in Montreal

04/21/08 Received VISA package

06/24/08 Crossed border

07/26/08 Received conditional greencard

07/28/08 Received SSN in mail (went down and applied in person 07/14/08)

08/11/08 Infopass appointment to request 10yr greencard instead of conditional. Mailed out 1-90 with support.

09/25/08 Received case # for I-90

02/17/09 Received 10yr greencard!!! WOOHOO

When I emailed my choice of agent (the first time - July 3rd), I put a 'read receipt' on the email.

I called 8 days later and they suggested I email it again - which I did - on July 12th (also put a read receipt on that one, but changed the subject line).

So Tracking these:

Email 1 - Sent July 3rd - read July 5th - read July 13th - updated our file July 13th - read July 16th

Email 2 - Sent July 12th - read July 13th - read July 25th - read July 26th

So I think that sometimes, when you send that 2nd email, it seems like they take notice and update the file, when in fact they are really updating based on that first email (when you do get a confirmation email back, have a look at the original message to see which email they are responding to, the first one or the second one - interesting).

Well, my wife just called NVC, they received the AOS fee yesterday (sent 7/25) and they said to allow 15 days to process e-mails, this is the time they need right now! So today I got my choice of agent in the mail and I'm thinking to express mail it back tomorrow, do you think this will hurt? What will happen if they receive the two (e-mail and printed form) forms?

Thanks for your opinion

Just rember that the Choice of Agent form needs to be signed by the beneficiary, that's why most of us use the e-mail shortcut.

So far no reply to the e-mail, I did send it by mail too now... I can't believe they are taking so long. I'll have my wife call again tomorrow to see if they have any news.

My DS3032 and AOS Fee Bill was generated on 08/06. I sent my Choice of Agent that same day via USPS Priority Mail. I have read mutiple forums that they did not get any response from NVC email for at least over 10 days. I am grateful I followed my instinct in mailing it, instead of emailing it.

To summarize:

08/06- Generated and sent

08/08- delivery receipt by NVC

08/09- Choice of Agent accepted and entered in the system
