I'm one of the unlucky few that have reached the inquiry date for my case. I have been processing for 20 months total now. Had an RFE in June, Response received 6/15/23. I submitted an inquiry and got a response the same day basically saying "your case is being processed". Now what? Do I just continue to wait indefinitely? Every step of the way I've had a guideline of when the process is taking too long. Up to this point it was always the inquiry date. I never imagined I would get here. Now, I feel like the future is endless. If I submit another inquiry and they just say the same thing... what then? Do I just keep submitting inquiries every week for the rest of my life?

Find your congress representative and on their website they will usually have a page titled like "Help with federal agency". Fill out the information and they will contact USCIS on your behalf to inquire: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

You can also submit another inquiry yourself that your case is beyond the expected processing times, and maybe explain it in detail and also inquire with USCIS ombudsman. If I were in your situation, I would just go with the congress rep first and see what happens.

You could also call them and ask instead of using the website. You will have to go through the automated menu and try to speak to a person, then difficult as it may be, explain to them politely that your NOA 1 is on whatever date, and it is beyond the expected processing time.

My inquiry date was 9/29/23 (though I guess it would have been moved up when they updated the estimated wait to 16 weeks). Still no approval on 10/5/23. Just curious how long I should expect to wait to get approval. My inquiry was responded to almost immediately stating that my case is being adjudicated, nothing since then.

Thanks!
