05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Interesting story, the wife and I were in Yellowstone a few years ago.  We had just parked the car at a trailhead, and were preparing ourselves for a hike.  We were at the back of the vehicle when my wife nudged me and I saw a bison walking toward us in the parking lot.  I was scrambling for the bear spray, but the bison stayed near the front of the vehicle and kept walking toward other vehicles.  It was scary since we were so close, but I had no plans to get any closer.  My wife did snap a pic as it walked away.

Actually, great story.  Those things are probably bigger than we expect.

Good that you didn't get buffaloed.

How many national parks have you visited -- that was your travel interest, right?

I could not post the other picture we took the next day when we were stopped on the road by a small herd and the bull decided it was time for some fun right in front of us.
