USCIS didn't cancel K1, and I'm now on CR1... help?

As the title says - my husband and I applied for the CR1 a little after we got our K1 NOA2. Before applying for the CR1, my husband sent a notarized letter to USCIS clarifying the situation and formally withdrawing from the K1 application. He didn't get any confirmation letter or anything from them yet (and we don't even know if we ever will).

Today we got an email from the embassy in my country with the instructions for me to prepare for the K1 interview. My first thought was to just ignore it but now I wonder if ignoring it will mess up our CR1 application in the future. Should I update the embassy or try getting in touch with USCIS? Or both?

Thanks in advance!

when NOA2 is sent , the case has gone to NVC and USCIS no longer has any control or deals with it / I don't think USCIS officer can even a assess the case after it is sent out

send a copy of the letter u sent to the embassy cancelling the K1

u need to write a note to embassy to let them know case #,  both names and both DOB's

U may get an RFE for the CR1 will match the K1 names but just respond with copy of both the original letter to USCIS and note to embassy

Sorry I didn't get the RFE bit, I might get one because of name differences? We kept our names the same after the marriage

I'll write to the embassy right now, thanks for the advice!

your 2 names are in  the system and SHOULD,  if USCIS is doing their job,  trigger a notice of "what's this?"

RFE are quite often sent out when a name pops up that is already in the system /usually commonly used over and over type of names
