Fiance visa: I just got the K1-FTP email from the NVC. What now?

I just got the K1-FTP email from the NVC. They said they would now send our application to the U.S. embassy in my fiance's country and that it would take a couple of weeks. Should I get started on the DS-160, the police records, and medical exams now? Or should I wait for the embassy to message me before doing anything? Here is what the NVC's email said:

Wait the two weeks. If embassy says nothing, email embassy. If after a week you get nothing, do DS-160, and then let embassy know. If embassy continues to ignore, do the police certificates.

Medical process is embassy specific. Being proactive without embassy guidance might be a bad idea.

Ah ok, thank you. And does the embassy email me (the U.S. petitioner)? Or do they send mail to my foreign fiance?

It will likely email your foreign fiancé.

In our case I kept my foreign fiancee’s email out of the process for as long as possible to inject as much determinism and consistency as possible (whiled keeping her CC’ed on emails).

Fortunately, they did not force a switch to her email until after the interview was scheduled.

Some and perhaps most embassies provide no insight into what is actually going on. Like a black hole.  So the couple needs to be proactive with letting the embassy know that that keen interest in a visa continues.

Remember that unlike approved I-130s, approved I-129Fs expire. As long as the foreign fiancé actively seeks a visa before I-129F expires, and does so after it expires through no fault of the petitioner or beneficiary, the embassy should extend the petition.

I don't know the difference between a consulate and an embassy, but I'm assuming the one in La Paz, Bolivia.

Have you done aby research?  A quick Google search came back with some good information for Bolivia

Yes, I've been to this website and seen this exact page. I couldn't find any information online about the timeline of when I should be doing things. And the information on this page is actually for immigrant visas, not non-immigrant visas like the fiance visa, which is what has been making all the online information so confusing.

Except that the k1 has probably 90% similarity as it relates to the consular processing except the k1 is the DS 160 instead of the DS 260.  The pre interview check list and medical exam are going to be the same.

That's probably true that there are a lot of similarities between the two processes, but I thought it would be faster if I asked for help instead of taking the time to figure out exactly which parts of the immigrant visa pertain to my case and which parts do not. It's true that this link will be extremely helpful for me when we get to the medical exam step and for figuring out what to prepare for the interview, but I'm just trying to figure out when I'm supposed to be doing those things right now. And the website doesn't tell me about that.
