For me being in the US I have to say Krispy Kreme doughnuts (donuts) are my all time favourite US pastime.

The food I miss the most from the UK is a good old fashioned Sunday Roast mmmmmmm! :dance:

Homemade, of course ! Just the thought of mac-and-cheese or scalloped potatoes from a box makes me barf...

FYI, it would be good to wean him (back) towards the traditional med(itarranean) dishes (such as kibbeh, hummous, foul--all prepared using till- or olive-oil) for health reasons.

(note: I heard at a conference in Richmond "the three GOOD cooking oils are olive, canola and sesame-seed"--the last one is called 'till' by Tamils)

Heehee no need to worry that he's not getting plenty of traditional fare, too... this man goes through a 12-ounce tub of hummus about every 18 hours, and also has olives and Mediterranean-style salads at almost every meal. He's sent the olive oil consumption rate at our house through the stratosphere :P We also cook the things he grew up eating like mahshi malfuf (stuffed cabbage,) kousa mahshi (stuffed squash) maqlouba (chicken with rice and cauliflower,) and ful (Fava beans in sauce) several times a week.

I guess I´ll miss the abundance of meats we have in Brasil, the churrascarias, for those who know what I mean. Great meat quality, the best cuts, not expensive.

James really liked all of our fast food for awhile (Sonic, Arbys, Taco Bell) but I think he's gone off it a bit. He does love philly cheesesteaks though, and rootbeer, and pulled pork BBQ. I know there's tons more but I can't think of them :)

Oh yeah, and Krispy Kreme cinnamon apple donuts, and all of our flavored coffee creamers :)

I only like krispy kreme donuts when they are hot freshly made or warmed up. When they are room temp, they don't taste very good in my opinion. :P I like dunkin donuts better.

February 16, 2006 - USCIS accepts the motion to reopen without an additional fee - finally something goes right! We should hear from USCIS St. Louis office within 2 weeks.

April 3, 2006 - Received welcome to America letter in the mail!

April 8, 2006 - Received GC in the mail - done for 2 years!!!!

March 1, 2008 - mailed off I-751

March 3, 2008 NSC delivery confirmation

March 10, 2008 NOA 1

March 28, 2008 Biometrics appointment

Legal Permanent Resident - just waiting for time to pass for him to have eligibility for citizenship.
