Let's just not create unnecessary fear which doesn't even need its implementation, where an OP just asked a simple question "why my application taking this long".

I was answering subsequent set of questions:

Does it require me to be present there for her interview. Is it tougher/ trickier than usual n400 interview for us?

Not sure how fear is created, highlighting the word "only" in my reply, I think it's important:

It only gets tough or tricky if IO suspects immigration fraud or questions the marriage.

First off, all IOs are trained pretty much to deal with any case type, sometime they do need a supervisor input if they find themselves stuck in deciding what to do. Marriage based, this based or that based, IOs know what they are doing and how to tackle cases with brain.

@Mike E @Crazy Cat may have better data points, but this article from allegedly former USCIS officer explains that not everybody is trained equal at USCIS. And I tend to believe it. Did you ever have somebody at DMV / SSA asking their manager to intervene because they don't know what to do?

Also @MunnoTheCat please explain how you came to conclusion that I said OP's case was delayed because of fraud etc? I've only said that it takes a trained officer to conduct combo interview, and this could possibly explain the delay. However, there may be many other reasons why it is delayed, and not necessarily because of the case itself.

We know that is not true.

New ISOs start off on N-400s.

At some field offices, N-400s with pending I-751s can only be handled by select ISOs. It is at these such field offices that filing N-400 while I-751 is pending slows down both cases. This is true even if every ISO is trained on both I-751 and N-400; the FO director has dictated the division of labor.

Thanks for every ones input. My case is very simple and it does makes sense with pending i751 , it takes more time.

I am also in the Boston area and filed N400 June 2022, still have heard nothing! Also used the 3 year rule

Filed I751 May 2021, and it was approved Jan 2023 while my N400 was pending. At least I have the 10 year green card so travel isn't as difficult dealing with extension letter papers
