I've read numerous articles in the press recently regarding immigrants stepping up Naturalization petitions because of the fee increase. In fact, my son has a friend whose father finally filed for Natz after living here 20 years - his sole motivation being the fee increase.

I'm sure businesses who have a lot of employees here on work visas made sure they had renewals or new petitions in the can before July 30, 2007.

I'm thinking that what anyone saved in dollars they should be prepared to spend on patience. Like most things in life, there will be a trade-off.

At least it seems that they're on top of it and able to give projections for the NOA1 (they're asking that people not call if it has been less than two weeks, indicating that they're expecting about two weeks right now.)

I'm thinking that what anyone saved in dollars they should be prepared to spend on patience. Like most things in life, there will be a trade-off.

What's pissy is when you miss the deadline by two days, paid the extra fee, and will still have to wait. :)

what was the fee before the increase biometric and AOS application together?

The fee before the increase was: $325 application + $70 biometric fee = $395

Yeah, I dont know why, for some, it is hard to understand that this thread is temporary and is comprised of data specific to those who filed just before fee increase. If you go back to the first post that started this thread, you will know there was a reason i only asked for reply from AOS applicants who filed in last half of july.

Infact, may I ask, " what is the purpose of monthly threads if that information can be easily available in timelines if everyone updates it regularly"????????????
