I updated our case as being transferred to CSC on 10/19, but that has disappeared. The case was touched today, so I am praying that it is a good sign and that approval will come quikly.

7/28/07 Sent AOS and EAD package to Chicago Service Center

8/31/07 NOA1 for I-485 Adjust Status & NOA1 for I-765 EAD

9/26/07 Biometric appointment

10/31/07 EAD card arrives in mail

11/16/07 Applied for SS number. Told it will arrive in 10 days.

I-129 Timeline

1/29/07 Mailed I-129 package to Chicago Service Center

1/31/07 Received by Chicago Service Center

2/02/07 NOA1 notice date from Missouri (NBC)

2/05/07 NOA1 received in mail

2/12/07 E-mail stating form was transferred to California Service Center

2/17/07 Letter stating form was transferred to Calfornia Service Center

2/20/07 Arrived at California Service Center

4/17/07 NOA2 e-mail notice date

4/21/07 NOA2 approval received in mail

5/4/07 NVC received approved I-129F. Assigns case number.

Looking at the list it seems that only people who DONT get transferred get interviews.

Looks like it to me but I heard that if the case really requires an interview for verification and such and it's at CSC, it will be transfered back to the local office. :unsure:

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm really happy for you guys! I hope I will hear something about my case soon. I'm in no hurry as I am enjoying being marrried but it would be nice to know that I won't have to deal with immigration while doing that, right?

Anyway, I'll be very, very, very patient. Looks like I'm one of those who will have an interview. :unsure: Oh well... no biggie.

I'm assuming you changed your name from patiently_waiting to wised up too late? As that's the only difference from the one I saw in your post. That's why I hadn't used your post as I didn't see any info under your name and didn't realize you were the same person, as you hadn't mentioned what you're update was in that post. Sorry. Please update me: Case was transferred to CSC for processing on Oct 30/07

OK....I am just happy that something is being done.

For everyone that seems they are permanently on hold........it will come. I know...I know...just cause I got somewhere in mine. Nah..that is not it at all. I just know there is a light at the end of the very long and dark tunnel.

Oct 3 - package delivered

Oct 5 - NOA mailed

Oct 13 - 1st NOA received and additional letters for my daughters I filed with. NOAs stated Resident Status

has been extended for 1 year and that we will be receiving a letter for an ASC appointment for

fingerprints, photo, and signature.

Dec 2009 - Received 10 year permanent resident card.

Feb 2010 - My children received their 10 year permanent resident cards.

Oct 2010 - My children were legally adopted by my USA Citizen husband.

I'm going to take a stab at an idea, and if I'm wrong, then oh well.

Since the fee increase, it seems that people who DO NOT get RFE's get transfered to CSC, (thus no interview). Those who DO get RFE's get transfered to local offices and receive interviews (probably to verify original paperwork?).

Correct me if I'm wrong here. Just some rambling.

Yeah, but I wanna know if this theory (above) can be proven/disproven. I ain't trying to crack the USCIS code, but I do think that they may be trying to make up for lost time with the backlog by following this simple plan that I've mentioned above.

True or false, CSC transfers - did you get an RFE for your AOS?

I think you're going to be wrong with this assumption. CSC does send out RFEs and to speculate that only cases without RFEs get sent to CSC is way off base, imo. You can be RFEd at anytime, even after the fee increase. An officer at MSC might have missed that something was needed but still sent on the case to CSC, then when the namecheck comes back they (CSC) check through the case again and find that there is something wrong/missing after all. They aren't going to send it all the way back to MSC to then be sent out to a local office for interview just because it needs an RFE.... ;)

Key word Opinion. AND there are going to be thousands of them on here. Lot of this has to do with FBI name check and if there is a hit or possible match with any part of that finance(spouse) name, then if it can be solved in database faster turnaround, it not then it is by hand and manual paper files at local offices of FBI which results in long delays. More than likely USCIS has some sort of procedure the USCIS follows or work by more than you or any of us realize when it comes to a transfer, there is no random procedure to this the US Feds have a reason for why they do it, thus there is a reason and a possible pattern or trend for their behaviour, it is we are not privy to it as filers and thus can only speculate, for example someone like MonicaMexico makes a very astute observation and has noticed that most transfers to CSC seem to have happened to most people without receiving a RFE. And there seems to be a high correlation of those that did not get a RFE in August that were then transferred, maybe not all people, but certainly one requirement to get considered for transfer to CSC would probably be no RFE. But there are reasons and trends or patterns for things the USCIS is looking for or paying more attention to when deciding a RFE for a case, it simply changes from quarter to quarter and none of us know for certain, be we just notice the obvious trends and patterns that is there.
