If u filed before fee increase.....

I can understand that, but I think that in this case, its just a matter of the sheer volume of 'pre fee hike' applications that are the culprit.

Just stressing out a bit. I'm hyper sensitive because our initial K1 paperwork was "lost in the mail" too. I sent everything in Sept of 06 and after not hearing anything I called, and they had no record of our stuff. So we re-filed, which delayed us for three months.

Just paranoid it will happen again. Our visa process has not been very smooth (see our timeline below). Does lightning strike twice?

I know exactly how you feel. For weeks, I was stressing out that they might have lost my package since it took a month for our check to be cashed. Give it a little more time and I'm sure your time is about to come. It seems like USCIS is now picking up the pace since a lot of us received the NOAs and Biometrics appointments the start of this month.

Goodluck!

Actually, I do know a dude who was struck by lightening twice. He was always a bit nutty though.

I can totally get why you're freaking, but in this case, I think that gods just want you to sweat a bit.

When my clock strikes 11:11, my wish will be for cashed checks! Yes, a bit superstitious, I know.

Thank you, everyone, for your support. One of the many reasons why I love VJ so much. I just feel so helpless... and the worst part is the longer it takes to cash the checks, the more dread I feel...

My father took him, and by all reports, it went well. My dad (ever-prepared with lots of free time in his retirement) drove down to make sure he could find it yesterday. He was told that they could have taken Edgar if he had been with my dad. He made friends with the agents, and they welcomed him back today. Apparently they thought it was funny that my Mayan husband came to his appt. escorted by an elderly gringo. He chatted with the agent while helping Edgar fill out the paperwork.

I think you're definitely still within safe timelines, but how did you find out that they never received the paperwork on your K1?

They never cashed my check for the I-129f. That was the first red flag. And I waited for a good two months to call the 800 number. So I call and the agent looked us up by last names (both mine and Edgar's) and the guy was like, "no record of those names. File again."

I'd definitely give it another week or so and continue operating on the assumption that you're one of the last ones in a batch to get some TLC from the USCIS.

What a pi$$er...you definitely deserve a break. Especially after the first loss of paperwork and having to bust into the consulate to get the visa. Perhaps your break will come in the form of an incredibly quick process???

I received a call from the peeps in Chicago the other day asking if I would like my NOA1 now but I decided this time that I would allow TracyTN to precede me. :)

YMMV

An update for me PaulineA - Received NOA dated 8-27. Biometrics scheduled for 09-12.

When I go to the biometrics appointment I need to take my passport or other form of picture identification. The thing is I haven't had my new name put on any of my ID yet. Do you think it would be OK to take my passport or driver license in my old name, and bring my marriage certificate to prove name change? Thanks.

Has anyone NOT had their checks cashed yet? I sent our AOS on 7-27 and have heard nothing so far. When do we admit defeat and re-file? (assuming they never received the AOS packet and got mysteriously lost in the mail) My husband's I-94 expires on Sept. 27th.

If you sent it on the 27th, it probably arrived on the 30th or 31st, and they're just getting through those applications now. Don't worry about the I-94 expiring; ours expired August 23rd, and we're still waiting on the NOA1. Or any sign of life.
