Hummingbird - almost everyone who has applied before the fee increases has had their biometrics before they receive their notices. I believe USCIS says it can take 90 days til you receive it. What date is your biometrics for so we can add it to the list?

bizarre detour:

Our I-485 package included two checks, one for AOS, the other for biometrics. It also included various support materials, including the I-129F we filed 14 months ago. The AOS check was cashed 8/20. Tuesday (8/28) we got back the second check (with biometrics written on the bottom by us), along with the I-129F copy, indicating that we had not sent in enough funds for our I-129F application!

The good news:

We immediately got an Infopass appointment for Wednesday (8/29). The USCIS person was VERY helpful. She was as frustrated as we were by Chicago's stupidity. She make a call, and is forwarding our check to the proper person. Unfortunately, she said that since Chicago did not think they had the biometrics payment, that we can look forward to a notice saying that we did not pay it. She said we should ignore this notice.

CSC bound:

She said that the local (Salt Lake City) office has stopped doing interviews, and that everything is being handled by CSC without interviews. Is this consistent with what others know?

Last night uscis finally had some info!!! Hence I now know when they received my stuff.

I have to say Biometrics was a rather pleasant experience...I was in and out in 20 min.

Hope others are getting some pleasant suprises in the mail today, including me.

14 days after the ninth is the 23rd...is my math wrong???

Maybe I'm understanding things wrong....If it says "On August 9, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case."

Is this my receipt date then???

Hi,

I think our NOA1 needs to be updated to 8/28/07??? (not sure)

Anyway, until now our case number is coming up invalid. Does this mean we will definitely be getting an RFE for something or just because they are backlogged (I know I'm asking for someoen to look into the crystal ball). Let me rephrase, has anyone received their bio/interview date, but experience a delay in being able to access case online?

Maybe I'm understanding things wrong....If it says "On August 9, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case."

Is this my receipt date then???

In my NOA1, recieved date is July 30. Twas also the date when the Chicago office received our application (confirmed thru UPS website). Notice date is likewise included, in our case its august 24.

Has anybody (who hasn't had their checks cashed yet) called USCIS yet to ask about their AOS paperwork? I dont want to bug them, but I just want a confirmation that they've recieved the AOS paperwork.

No checks cashed here yet either . No good calling them as we don't have a case number for them to verify anything.

We are on the same shoe. Hubby tried to check our status online yesterday when we got the NOA1 but to no avail. It says invalid or not in the system yet. We also tried to add it to our previous account with the I-129F so we can get updates but still it didn't work. My friend who is a mid-July filer had hers appear online few days after she was done with her biometrics. So nothing to worry.

May 2007 - arrived in Texas

December 2009 - 10-yr GC received

Citizenship by next year!!!!
