My wife needs to renew her 10 year green card which will be eligible for renewal at the end of this month.

I'm having trouble with Part 3 of form I-90 , specifically these questions:

1) Location where did you applied for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status

2) Location where your immigrant visa was issued or USCIS office where you were granted adjustment of status.

We did an interview together in Tokyo for a K-1 visa, but this was a non-immigrant visa and I assume it doesn't apply here.

Is #1 above where we mailed Form I-485? And #2 where (the USCIS office) we did the interview for the conditional greencard? Or something else?

Does form I-751 (Removal of conditions) fit anywhere here?

I have copies of most of the forms I filled out for the K-1 visa, greencard, and removal of conditions, but I don't remember where we mailed out the forms. Or the address of the USCIS office where we did the interview.

We filed from Los Angeles, CA. Is there any way to know what actual locations we used for the above? Or should I just get the addresses from the forms' instructions?

I just noticed these in my timeline:

Adjustment of Status
CIS Office :     Los Angeles CA

Lifting Conditions
CIS Office :     Vermont Service Center

Is it as simple as Los Angeles CA for both #1 and #2?

I'd appreciate any advice.

Another option is to see if I can get any information from the green card codes on the actual card. I think they may have the service center details there.

The city the LPR lived in when I-485 was filed:

The USCIS office with jurisdiction over the LPR at the time I-485 was approved.

If the LPR lived in Los Angeles, yes.

I have no idea why uscis asks these useless questions. Or why USCIS does not simply the answers on the GC like it used to.

Thanks so much for your reply!

I looked at her conditional greencard and saw that the location was MSC

Does this mean I should put Missouri Service Center for question one?

For question 2, I'm pretty sure it was the Los Angeles field office where we did the interview.

It's strange they bother to ask these questions, especially since the online I-90 application asks for scans/photos of the greencard.

Thanks again for your help!

As I wrote before, in my opinion, application was made in Los Angeles.

My first GC has no indication of what service center processed it, and for my I-90, I answered Chicago for both questions, since that was where I interviewed. I doubt this answer matters. Put down what you wish.

Very good, thanks! Just making sure that bit of extra information didn't change your previous response.

Just to make a quick follow up. By "extra information" I meant the actual service center in the back of the conditional green card stated Missouri Service Center, which I wasn't aware of during my original post. And that's what I ended up using. But really, USCIS has all the information and I doubt any of these responses really matter.

For anyone curious this is what I ended up writing on the form. The actual service center we applied to and the location of the USCIS office for the interview. There was no interview for the 10 year green card.

Part 3. Processing Information

1. Location where you applied for your immigrant visa or adjustment of status - Missouri Service Center

2. Location where your immigrant visa was issued or USCIS office where you were granted adjustment of status Los Angeles CA

Anyhow, there was no need for any biometrics and we got the renewed greencard today 17 days after we did the online application. Very easy and quick!

Wonderful.  Thanks for returning with the happy update!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
