Change a K-1 to a CR-1? (Split)

May I ask, as you guys are more expert, what would happen if I change my existing K1 VISA (sent petition in October 2022, papers will arrive approved in Nov 2023, looks like I will get all approved by June 2024) into a CR1?

My concern is that then my K1 will stop and we have to wait another 2 years? Or maybe if I change it now, when the papers will arrive in London the process will go faster as it's now a CR1? Confused...

If you get legally married, which is required to start a spousal visa process via an I130, the K1 application is no longer applicable.  So yes, the clock does reset, and you should formally withdraw the I129F.  That being said, you have to weigh your own personal situation, the spousal visa is far superior than the K1.

Good Luck!
