I still have the wrong green card that shows expiry date in september 2030. The I90 still being pending, never sent me a RFE for it. Should i carry this card with the extension letter I received after filing ROC?

Carry the card.  No reason to carry the extension letter.

Could it be considered an invalid document

Yes. Whose fault is that? You did the I-90 futility thing as you were supposed to. You are required to carry evidence of LPR status and this is all you have. If BP complains tell them to pound sand.

Also can it be used for international travel

You can use it to board a flight.

CBP can take it, and/or assess an I-193 fee.  If the former, at least you will finally get an ADIT.

carry the card to where? as in daily basis ? that's a no for me. i know as LPR u need to have that card in hand all the time

but what if it got lost/stolen/missing ? no one will help you to get the a new GC except urself.

i dont live near the border, been living in the US almost 7 years now, just got my GC last april. never ever a police or law enforcement ask me verbally or  to show government ID that shows my status here in the US. they only ask for my state ID or Driver's License.

my GC is at home. i have the soft copy of the GC in my dropbox (phone)

obviously i will carry that GC when i travel overseas.

I think you are required to carry it by law. Definitely understand your perspective though.

I'm in the same situation, GC correct expiry date would have been Nov 2022, have travelled internationally 3 times since then with the 10 yr GC  without any issue, I did take the extension letter first time JIC but haven't since

Enjoying 10 year GC benefits early? Haha, wouldn't blame you. Far better travel experience compared to expired conditional GC + extension letter.

One other thing.

It is a 1 in 10,000 chance, but USCIS has been known to erroneously insist all the way through N-400 that the 10 year GC was not issued in error.

Look closely at his wife’s timeline:

You will see that a 10 year GC was clearly issued in error. And yet I-751 was rejected, and N-400 was approved. Someone powerful at USCIS made an error and decided to double down for some reason, perhaps because the fear that if N-400 was denied, the beneficiary would  be able to set a dangerous precedent in court.

Thus had the beneficiary failed to carry her “invalid document”,  and had she been arrested for it, she would have lost in federal court because the card was valid as far as USCIS was concerned.

Failure to carry your card because you think it is invalid is not afaik a legal

defense.
