Hello everyone, so my mom has a visa for immigration sponsor by me USC. She is currently have a serious heart conditions and are being treated in Vietnam. I intend to bring her here to have an open heart surgery to save her life. The problem is she is 80 years old and would need to be accompanied by my sister who is a Vietnamese citizen. I would like to get her a medical emergency visa or whatever it is called. Is it an option? Would you be so kind to provide with the I formation needed. I'm very grateful.

It is not air ambulance situation. I am currently  having to work to support her medical condition and won't be able to take care of my mom by myself. That's why I really need my sister to come over to take care of mom

Her Mother could sponsor her to immigrate but that will take many years. Sounds like your Mother is or will be a Permanent Resident? Also assumes sister is single.

Sister cannot come here and work. Taking care of your mom is considered work. She can apply for a visitors visa but with you and her living there I doubt it will be approved. Also, how do you plan to cover costs of surgery?

Prior post mentions Mother Immigrated 2 years ago.

Reminds me of something I saw, now only come across this working once so strikes me as a Hail Mary. EB3 Unskilled, problem is that it takes a few years and if I remember correctly the costs were 25 to 30k. Mainly legal fees.

Hopefully you have good insurance for your mom, and a surgeon willing to do that surgery on an 80 year old.

Your sister can apply, but the “emergency” situations for tourist visas are for life and death situations for someone in the US, and your mom is not in the US.

A B2 Medical would be for the Mother, she is the one who needs the medical care, but is a LPR so not relevant.

The tricky bit is the Daughter who wants to move to the US to be the caregiver.

You sponsored your Mother, did you ever petition your Sister, did your Mother petition her?

I can get her insurance one month after she arrives here. Money is not really an issue. I really my sister here as I’m working full time and can’t take care of her …

So if money isn’t an issue, and considering the urgency of the situation, why are you trying to bring your sister instead of just hiring someone in the US to do the job?

Damn, you must have found some outstanding yet very expensive insurance that will cover a significant portion of open heart surgery a month after she gets here.

It costs me an arm and two legs to get just fair insurance for my wife, and she is not old.

Just check carefully what is covered and by how much.
