This is just an FYI for anyone else who might be in the same position.

We are so close the being done with the whole process. We are currently waiting for K1 Visa appointments to become available in Bangkok.

On September 17th, we completed the DS-160 forms (By the way..that was a SERIOUS PAIN IN THE _.since the https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ website kicks you out if you pause for a minute to look up some information)

After completing the DC-160, you get directed to the ustraveldocs.com website to pay for and schedule an interview. (Why that website doesn't have a .gov domain extension is beyond me).  At the time, the ustraveldocs website was indicating that there was an available appointment at the end of November. (I'm guessing it may have been a cancellation that freed up a slot).

Unfortunately, it took much of the next day to find a print shop in Jomtien willing and capable (incompetence was a factor) to print out the payment form that the bank would need.  After paying for the interview fees (k1 and k2) and getting our receipt, per the instructions, we had to wait until after 12:00pm the next day, before attempting to schedule an interview. (I assume, giving time for the ustraveldocs website to acknowledge the payment Receipt #). To our dismay, that open slot had been snatched up (congratulations to whomever that might be).

So here we are, checking the ustraveldocs website constantly, hoping that more appointments open up, soon.  It's quite disheartening, after waiting 15-16 months from I-129f inception, to our case arriving at the embassy, then struggling through the <text deleted> CEAC website, to now get greeted with "No appointments available" every time we log in and click that 'Continue' link.

since u r going to be dealing with a lot more forms for AOS and all,  i suggest u print out a sample form , read  thru the instructions and then sit down to fill out the AOS forms  even the ones not done online

i do sample forms first (for everything) , check it and then the formal petition

this gives u time to check dates,  etc and takes away the pressure to get it done

Sympathies, brother.  I remember much the same problem in my own case, albeit years earlier at a different consulate under lower-tech conditions.  This isn't fun, but it will work out.  Keep us apprised so that we can cheer for your ultimate success.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

This describes us perfectly, including being in Jomtien!  :)

The ceac website is a horrible pain, but we successfully finished the DS160 in early July and paid the interview fee July 15th.

Been checking every day, multiple times, for an interview slot, but nothing ever available.

So frustrating!

I guess I should have asked above, but for those that have recently been through the process in Thailand, when you did find an open interview slot, how far out were they booking?

Sim lives in the NorthEast/Easn, and is not great about traveling solo.  Trying to wrap my head around how much lead time we will have to get things organized.

Were you able to get an appointment yet?  At long last, I finally secured an interview appointment at the end of the year.

This may be a dumb question, but are you now using the new website?  At some point, I kept trying to log into the ustraveldocs site and it would not log in.  I did some digging and found they moved to a new website - usvisascheduling   It took quite a bit of time to get a new profile set up and we stumbled a bit to get our receipt for interview fee recognized, but at long last a single appointment opened up at the end of the year and I was able to snag it.  So about 45 days out.

Let me know if you need more info on any of this. I am so jazzed to have our slot now.  Progress!
