I applied for my mother August 28.

I received the NOA1 and 2 days later it said the case was being actively reviewed by USCIS.

The estimated time is 4 weeks *fingers crossed*

I got the Approval for my mom's case on November 19, 2024 (with a little help from the senators office)

Guys I hope you can help me or guide me where I can ask for help.

Now my mother's case is at NVC and we just completed the DS-260 form. And because she lived in Canada and Saudia Arabia 30 years ago, they now want police certificates from those countries.

Does anyone know if I can get them online or do I have to be physically in those countries to apply? Should I just choose the "Not Available" option in ceac? Will that cause issues?

Please help!

Any update guys!!!!! I think they forgot about us😪

If you are still waiting try contacting the senator's office and tell them it's past the processing time and you would like them to contact USCIS for you

Strongly recommend hiring a lawyer and filing a Mandamus. Our PD was late July of 2023. Hired a lawyer in late October and got approved last week. We definitely would still be waiting if we didn't do that. I would also caution doing it yourself. The guides on this site and elsewhere for filing on your own are fraught with errors and misunderstandings of the law.

I-130s give roughly 15 months without Mandamus. I wouldn't file Mandamus until it's been 24 months of wait. Why is that? Because most cases will take less than 24 months anyway. Unless money isn't a problem.

Strong disagree. From what I've seen (in this forum, Facebook, and Reddit, among other groups), if you're skipped over (meaning that many others around your PD were adjudicated), you will be not be adjudicated unless you take some action. That could mean intervention by your congressman, dealing with ombudsman at around the 2 year mark, or filing a mandamus.

Everyone surrounding our PD was approved in the first week of October. Our congressperson was unhelpful (and actually gave me wrong advice, which I knew to be wrong at the time). I filed a mandamus the last week of October at the 15 month mark. Nothing happened at all until last week at the 16.5 month mark. Our result was definitely due to the mandamus. If I didn't file, we'd still be waiting. It's really the best solution if you've been skipped over because it forces USCIS to do its job.

The "batch" of I-751 cases I was in was skipped. No Mandamus, it took additional 5.5 months but everybody in my batch got eventually proceessed.

I say when processing times is 15 months, any approvals that deviate 2-3 months either way (shorter or longer) is still pretty normal. Whether it's worth spending money on WoM or not is a personal decision. In my opinion, only worth if case is delayed by 5-6 months or more. August 2023 filers are only at the mark they start getting processed. I'd start worrying if somebody still waiting in this group in May 2025.

Thank you for sharing your experience.
