Wanted to start a thread for I-130 filers who petitioned in August 2023

There's usually one on the main forums.  @dwheels76 tends to moderate them.  I-130's are a USCIS thing, so they aren't as country specific as the process is after approval when your case is sent to NVC.  

 

It's also helpful if you fill out your timeline.  Just click Timeline under your profile and fill it out.

I submit my mother I-130 on August 21,2023. Now the waiting begins

Filed August 15, Received Biometrics appointment dated September 9, on online account.

I just check my mom case status and the estimated time until case decision is 2 months

I applied for my mother August 28.

I received the NOA1 and 2 days later it said the case was being actively reviewed by USCIS.

The estimated time is 4 weeks *fingers crossed*

I can see the status to actively reviewing but I can’t see the estimated time for specific case I-130. Where do y’all come up with specific 2month, 4months , 8months etc timelines? Share the link. A citizen for many years trying to get my daughter here. Dr. R

When you go to your account click on “Case Status” there will be a drop down menu. Click on “MyProgress” and it will tell you the estimated time to decision.

 

This is on the phone version of the website. You can see it on the computer version as well, just check for myProgress next to where it says Case Status.

I applied August 18th for my mom and a couple days later, I applied for my dad. The initial timeline stated it would take 10 months but then my mom's case said 1 week and my dad's 3 months. Now it says my mom's case is taking longer than expected while my dad's was lowered 2 months. We shall see! Fingers crossed!

Are you now a US citizen?  Your timeline says you became an LPR only this year upon your March 2023 US entry with IR1/CR1 visa.

Yes I am. I couldn't get access into my old visa journey account so had to create a new one. I came here on a k1 visa in June 2009.
