B1/B2 Visa - Ties to Country of Residence?

Hi all,

I'm an Indonesian citizen who moved to the United Kingdom about 6 months ago, and I'll have my visa appointment in the coming few weeks. I'm wondering if the documents below would be enough to proof my ties to the United Kingdom?

I had a B1/B2 Visa that expired last year, and during my last interview, I remembered there was a handful of people who were rejected due to the lack of ties to the country, and I guess I'm just slightly panicking at the moment.

I'm open to suggestions on any other documents I might need to include! Thanks!

Documents prepared:

  • Copy of UK residence permit and validity
  • Employment verification with salary (and return date)
  • Flight tickets and hotel details
  • Salary statements x3 months
  • Bank details
  • Council tax and utility bills

Of all the items you listed, which ones would show you are more likely to return to UK?  Employment.  What about housing commitment in UK?  Family?  Other evidence that you need to return?  Prior B2 is a positive, imo.

Hello - thanks for responding quickly! I have no particular housing commitment as my partner owns the place we're living at, but I have included relevant bills (which have both of our names), proof of our joint account, and a copy of his passport (he's a British citizen). No family in the UK / US at all.

I am a consultant with a US-listed company for the past 7.5 years.

I am seeing strong ties to the U.S.

When I applied for my last B1/B2 visa, I was employed by the same company as well. It has many offices globally (in 30+ countries globally) so I thought it's not a particularly strong ties to the US? I am paid by the the company's UK entity as well. Thanks for flagging though!
