We filed our case in August 2021. Our case was transferred to the Chicago field office in February 2023 and apparently the interview waived in September 2022. It's been 2 damn years and nothing has been approved ;not even our I-130. We've not gotten any RFE’s and no interview notice. In February 23 our 1-130 changed to actively reviewing after a year of no update, it's been almost 7 months since that update and still no approval. On Saturday I get an email saying we have taken action on your case for my I-485 however there was nothing in the document section. This is the second actively review, the last one was just after  biometrics in December 2021. It's been 4 days and still nothing, no RFE, no Interview notice just NOTHING. The Chicago FO isn't even our FO as we live in Utah. Has anyone had this happen before and how long after second activity reviewing did you get approval. I'm so sick of this waiting. 2 years is ridiculous. Please advise??

Please fill out a timeline so we can better assist.  Such as--is there a field office in Utah?  I have seen other cases being transferred to other field offices, due to back log in cases.  Also, did you receive a letter stating the interview was waived?  Adjusting from what?  Timelines can reduce these questions.

Sorry to hear, this must be very frustrating.

You can sue USCIS for decision, by filing Writ of Mandamus. You can either do it yourself (costs $402) by following instructions here:

Or you can search YouTube. There's a lawyer who specializes in suing USCIS (costs ~$5000). That's his favorite thing to do.

Hey! I want to give you some hope.

I applied December 2021, and I got the combo card in May 2023, which I thought was ridiculous. Anyway, I JUST got "approved" for my 485! Insane timeline for me as I thought it would be done much faster. From what I have gathered, it seems very random as a lot of people applied after me and got their approvals much earlier.  I received "actively being reviewed" status updates which were so frustrating at least 3 times during that time.

I am confused though - I thought I had to do an interview so I saved a lot of stuff for it but it just says "approved".

If you got 2 year GC through marriage, you'll need this evidence for ROC. And if you apply for N-400 under 3 year rule, you may also need it. So it's worth keeping stuff saved.
