Can't get an interview appointment

Hello all,

My case is ready so I've been trying to pay the fee and book an appointment with the embassy, but for the past several days the site has been saying 'There are no available appointments at this time. Please check back in a few days as the Consular Section will open more appointments.'

The call center wasn't particularly helpful either.

This is the Athens embassy so I'm kind of surprised they have this much of a backlog lol.

Is there anything I can do besides obsessively refreshing the page? 😔

If u look at the map of fires in Greece,  u will see there are 9 near the Athens area

this is shutting things down including many government buildings

 

The fires would affect the embassy and work in Athens

if u bring up the US Athens embassy there is a wild fire prediction map

and i would suspect the fires are the reason its hard to get an appointment at this time

Hmm, I wasn't aware that the wildfires were still affecting things, I remember reading about it last week.

August is indeed always an awful month environmentally for Greece. 🙁
