N-400 Interview Scheduled, I751 still not.

Hello VJ. Finding this strange. After waiting for 52 months to have I751 interview/approval wife filed for naturalization on 7/26.  Just got notice of the interview for N-400 on 8/22 which the interview date is in late September. However there still has been no response on the I751. The Case status site still has it as ready to be scheduled for interview and the Online site has the case listed but doesn't give any information as to where the case is in the process, not ready to be scheduled for an interview or anything. I don't know what all this means. I'm glad that after 52 months there will finally be some sort of movement yet I know you can't naturalize until conditions are removed. I've seen and heard of many 'combo interviews' on VJ yet don't know if that will be our situation as nothing as of yet within the systems shows they have touched the I751. Any info and advice is greatly and gladly welcomed

USCIS may or may not tell you that both the I-751 and N-400 will be processed at the interview.  In my case, USCIS notified me, 2 days prior to wife's N-400 interview, that it would be a combo.  My advice to assume that both the I-751 and N-400 will be adjudicated during the interview.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I agree to prepare for a combo interview but understand most ISOs who adjudicate N-400s are new and not trained on I-751.

So i suggest submitting a letter requesting a combo interview or I-751 approval before the interview.

I second Mike E's suggestion to write a letter.  It worked for my husband a few weeks ago.  We didn't want to assume that the N-400 would be a combo interview with the pending I-751, given the frequent incompetence of USCIS.  All it took was a simple one page letter to the USCIS field office, requesting a combo interview.  Include a copy of the N-400 interview notice and the I-751 receipt number.  My husband got his US passport yesterday, it only took 5 weeks, a big surprise given the backlog.  Now he can finally leave the US for travel.

Thank you for the suggestion, I am in a similar boat. Might I ask how did you reach out to the field office and any template you followed ?
