Questions regarding I29F

Hi there, I was wondering if someone could answer some questions about filling out form I29F for me. As the beneficiary, the form asks for my parents information. Long story short when I was still a child I was placed in witness protection which meant an entire identity change. Would I still need to include my fathers information (who was taken out of the picture) on I29F and as well include "other names used". Thanks!

Yes.  It must match your birth certificate.

Right, but Im wondering because I was placed in witness protection having undergone a complete name change and pretty much "erasing" my father out of the picture legally is this information still required on I29F?. I have a birth certificate from Alberta, Canada and this document doesn't even include my parents names on it just mine.

This is above my pay grade.  Maybe @Mike E has some ideas.

I will say that if USCIS/DOS struggles to collect and confirm background/identity/family/police information on you, it is likely to lead to extended administrative processing/vetting, so the entire process could take well over the standard two years.

I understand, hopefully this isn't the case. This all happened when I was 8 years old (21 years ago). Thanks for your input it's greatly appreciated!.

you need to consult the overseers of your witness program/ they are lifelong overseers

they will advice or notify the proper government officals

Not direct answer to your question BUT you might want to consider marrying your partner and going the spousal route. You will have the same issue re: birth certificate being altered but if extended vetting/ processing does occur the I130 petition won’t expire but the I129F might.
