hello..

my green card application is in the pipeline. its has been 3 and a half months since we applied.  2 months ago when i checked my uscis account for the first time it showed a processing time of 7 months. i check my account regularly in the intervals of a fortnight. after almost a month when i logged in again , the processing time was reduced to 6 months. it seemed quiet linear to me and i revelled in the fact that things are going smoothly. but when i checked again recently after an interval of almost a month, i was surprised to see that the processing time had been increased to 9 months. this got me really worried.. how does the system work.. can anyone explain please.. how long will it take before i am given a date for the interview.. it has been exactly 3 and a half months since i applied.. is the processing time of 9 months counted from the current date or from the time of application.. how much longer can i expect to wait.. please guide

Looks like, roughly, about another 9-11 months or so just for the USCIS part of the process.  Then comes the NVC part, and later, the Consulate part (interview).  At which USCIS Service Center is the I-130 being processed?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Sounds like you're thinking of Premium Processing, unfortunately not an option for I-130's.

You are misinformed.  You can request an expedite if your case qualifies.  There is no charge for expediting family based petitions.  Premium Processing is not available.

yes i understand... i read all the conditions required to be qualified for an expedite request. out of all the conditions we do qualify for one only e.g severe financial loss....    if we file for an appeal,  what percentage of these requests would you say are actually entertained and accepted?

I can't answer that.  I do know that there are a LOT of expedite requests.  Everyone thinks their case deserves to be pushed to the front of the line ahead of everyone already waiting.  A LOT of people request expedites.  It does no harm in trying.

I assume you are referring to a  petition for a spouse visa?  Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary?

If you are the petitioner, then you can request an expedite.

If you are the beneficiary, you.cannot request and expedite.  Your participation for the visa will occur during the NVC phase when you submit the DS-260 as the visa applicant.

You cannot pay to have that type of visa expedited.

And they will not expedite just because you are tired of waiting.   There are people who have been waiting for much longer than you.

Overall about 14 to 18 more months until your interview.

And for Pakistan, anywhere from 2 weeks to 1+ years after the interview to get the visa.

I don’t see the possibility of an expedite…

I assume you were petitioned 3.5 months ago? Generally the first phase (I130) takes about a year.

The next phase NVC- depends on how soon you submit your documents and the time it takes to review that time is always fluctuating (maybe 1 month - 3 months).

Then currently they are interviewing people in Islambad DQ’ed June 4, 2021

(as of last update)
