Hoping for some mouvement in the next couple of weeks. Case escalated to the department of state by the case worker at the congressman’s office. We’ll see what happens next

Any updates on the escalation?

Haven’t heard anything yet

The consulate has been “touching” the case a lot lately, at least twice a week, but no real progress

My wife's immigrant visa (started as CR1, but now is IR1) has been on AP since 17-May-2022 (Day of interview).

As of today, we are still under AP after a year and 3 months so far (15 months).

How long can AP go for? is 24 months the max? or can AP go longer than that?

What are our options right now?

Sadly, there is no max.  Options are to either wait it out, or WOM (sue).

So, After more than 15 months of painful AP, the status of the case changed from "Ready" to "Refused" today, 14-Sep-2023.

Shortly after that, the services of the US Consulate in Casablanca called my wife to deliver the long-awaited news:

AP is completed and all issues have been resolved. we need an updated medical before the visa can be issued.

It has been long, and painful, and long, and painful, but thank God, it is over now.

Congratulations! What a relief it must be.

It has been painful, and it really tested our patience, but it made us stronger and more determined.

can’t wait for the visa to be issued and to be joined for good
