Good day,

please my husband has been in Nigeria since 2019 and today the consular denied my visa stating that my husband has no Tax transcript and they want to see 2022 when next I apply. How can we file when he’s here and has not worked for almost 4years, supporting us with his asset, investments etc!

I left the embassy so sad.

This is a refusal...not a denial.  I assume they gave you a 221g.  If so, I would comply with their written instructions.  Your husband can file taxes from anywhere in the world.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

@Crazy Cat

yes you are absolutely right, I got a 221g..

my husband has not worked for this period of time my brother! What are we filing then???

and another question is how long will it take them to reschedule another interview for me after providing these documents….please reply thank you

I see a couple options, although our seeing what the consulate gave you would be beneficial:

1.  Your husband can write a letter explaining that he was not required to file taxes for 2022.

2.  Husband can file 2022 taxes showing little or no income.  Then, you can submit a copy of the tax return.

Do you have a joint sponsor?  If not, I would get one, too.

Good luck.

Without having US based income or domicile in the US, your husband is not qualified to sponsor you.  Do you have a joint sponsor?

What about US-based income to support you?
