It is possible to reschedule the interview? *****Split****

My wife has her interview scheduled for September 13, which means her 6 month window to enter the USA will expire a few days before our 2nd anniversary, assuming that 6 month window starts from the interview date. Does anyone know if that’s the case or  is there a delay in processing a  passport as it typically takes awhile to receive it back after the interview from what I’ve read? It is possible to reschedule the interview with cause, but does anybody know how feasible that option is?

Moderator Hat off:  The visa, after being issued, will expire 6 months after the medical exam is done.  It could expire even sooner.  Now that the interview has been scheduled by NVC, you can contact the consulate and ask them to reschedule to a later date.  Their discretion.  We did that (for another reason) after my wife's interview was initially scheduled.   Good luck.

The 6 month validity date of the visa is based on the date of the medical exam for the visa which is usually a few days or more prior to the interview date.  Generally speaking, I am not one to encourage rescheduling a visa interview/medical exam, but that pain can vary by consulate, so you may want to look into it for your country.

Marriage 3/16/2022 you would need to enter after 3/16/2024

if getting the 10 year card is important ,  reschedule and do medical sometime after beginning of January giving u 6 months to fly in from date of medical

hope the embassy does not reschedule u for after April 15th as that would require 2023 tax returns

I would not advise you to reschedule the interview once set up by your consulate unless you have legit reason like death or life situation something is emergency. Also is up to your consulate where your beneficiary has slot schedule open again and could take longer, anyway is up to you what to decide good luck.

Did you decide to move your interview? And if so, do you have the date? Or has it already passed?
