Hello,

We will have our interview in October, 5.5 months from when we had our medical exam. The medical exam took place in Ankara, Turkey.

I know the TB one would not apply since she does not have Tuberculosis and I assume it would be the no apparent defect.

Also, do we have to do another medical exam before she travels to the U.S. and get her updated vaccinations again (she took them in the early spring)

All cases go into AP till visa is issued or denied

CEAC site will say refused till decision is made

and yes ,  if AP goes past the 6 month medical date,  she will need a new exam /embassy will notify if the embassy approves the visa

Did she interview in Ankara?

if so,  it probably will be a longer AP

By law, the visa expiration date cannot exceed 6 months past the medical exam date.  Therefore, the consulate will either require her to travel almost immediately (after the visa is issued), or they will request another medical exam.  It will be their discretion.

The medical is valid for 6 months maximum.  At the interview, the applicant will likely be asked if they can travel to the US before the medical expiry date.  This happened to me, though my medical was still valid for 1.5 months more at the time of interview in Manila.  It's also possible for the officer to issue a 221(g), asking the applicant to repeat the medical before their visa can be issued.
