Just finished by combo interview at the Newark office .. Officer said I passed .. gave me a white document to show I was there .. said he needs time to go through my documents and case and I should wait for something in the mail … is it normal ? as I’m worried

Congratulations!!! You'll soon attend your Oath Ceremony! 🎉

Hi forum! I just wanted to share an update in our case to see if anyone else had this update on the USCIS website. We submitted the N-400 back in August 25th and the status changed to “USCIS is actively reviewing your case” at the end of September. After that, there’s been no change at all and I’ve seen so many people get their interviews way faster that I started to get worried even though I’m obviously happy for those who did get their interviews 🎉

Anyway, two days ago the time estimate on the website went down to 2 months (from 3) and then one day later to 31 days but still no change in status or interview date.
Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone know if this means that someone is actually working on the case or is the tracker completely arbitrary? I don’t want to get my hopes up if it doesn’t mean anything🥹 thanks again for your input!

On the day my wife received her interview notice, the USCIS estimate moved from 3 months to 6 months......What does that tell you?  It tells me that there is no logic to USCIS estimates.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

The logic what I understand is when your case is at NBC it’s telling your different estimates but soon your case transfers to local office it tells you the estimate of the local office so whenever your estimate time goes up like that it seems your case is transferred to local office and it’s going to be scheduled for interview soon

its arbitrary. My time estimate counted down to 1 day and now it says "your case is taking longer than expected".

Had my interview yesterday in NYC. I also have my I-751 pending so I went with my husband in case they asked to interview him. My interview was scheduled for 10:50. I arrived at 10:30, checked in at 10:40 and was called inside around 11:30. I can say that I had the best officer I could ever expect. She was genuinely trying to have a nice conversation and not only an interview. She asked about random stuff and told me stories about herself as well. She said in the beginning that my English was very good so she wasn't worried I would fail it. The total interview lasted about 40 minutes, I can say that 10 minutes was the usual naturalization questions and the rest was a good chat. She mentioned that because my I-751 was still pending, she couldn't approve me on the spot, but she would try to review the paperwork the same day with a colleague and try to get them both approved by the end of the week, since she didn't think she needed my husband to come in or any more documents. I haven't seen any updates yet, but hopefully by next week I'll see something.

One funny thing happened, when I had to write down the sentence she spoke, I accidentally moved the iPad a little bit and disconnected it from her computer. The screen went black and she got worried it would mess up everything, but it connected again and I was able to write it down.

I'm in the same boat as you. My status has been at "taking longer than expected" since 01/31.

The status is just an estimate, unfortunately.

I applied at the end of August. This morning, I was informed that I will have an interview soon. I'm not sure if this is because I emailed my senator's office on Sunday and received a response from them yesterday stating they would try to help. Anyway, my question is, should I take my husband with me? My I-751 was already approved, and I'm wondering if I can go there on my own, we both work, it’s kind of hard now to take two days off

Any advice guys?
