Opinion: I'm a doctor. Let me explain why reelecting Trump threatens your health.

As a hospital-based physician treating the most sick and vulnerable, I must advocate against voting for Donald Trump for president and any MAGA-inspired politician who follows him.

 

In early 2021, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I distinctly remember rounding on a patient in my hospital dying from respiratory failure – unfortunately, not an uncommon occurrence during that time. What stands out in my mind was that no matter how much oxygen he was hooked up to, my patient never took off his red “Make America Great Again” hat. And every time I would walk in, between his labored breaths, he would grumble about how evil Dr. Anthony Fauci was, how the newly released mRNA vaccines were dangerous, and how the Democrats wanted to control us with masking policies.

Experiences like this crystalized in my mind how intimately related politics can be with health care. Starting from the top, a trust in our public health system and in science itself could influence people to make healthier choices; on the other hand, leaders who breed distrust in these institutions could lead to death and suffering…..

So you are all for unfettered, unvetted open borders?  Do you open your house to those coming across the border that Old Corrupt Petulant Joe and Kackling Kamala opened up?  Btw, Hillary is a "sick son of a..." with her suggestions to limit free political speech, also does she not remember that Old Billy Boy was nominated at a convention at the Nazi stained MSG.  Does that make him a Nazi?

 

Personally I do not care.  I am an Independent mostly against the DC establishment, and I already voted.  Even if Trump is elected, there is not much he can do in 4 years, but I would like to see more focus on decentralizing the government out of DC.  It was talked about in his first term and the bureaucrats went nuts, maybe it is time to make them really nuts.

Trump's mother worked as house cleaning lady along with her sisters who also lacked education or skills.

Had MAGA immigration policy been in effect in the 1930 at the height of the Great Depression when umemployment was sky high and nativists screamed that the "migrants are taking American jobs" he would not be here today.

Did Trump ever say he was against legal family based immigration?  Personally I am more in favor of family based immigration where people are vetted through USCIS and DoS rather than the open borders (let other countries empty their prisons, etc.) style Old Joe and KK have created.  That being said, I commend his mother for over coming and succeeding after immigrating legally to the US.

I am surprised it is this close, I could be wrong, but that just shows what a horrible candidate she is.

How much damage can she do, well the people who are pulling her strings, I do not know. I assume the Repubs will get their act together, not nominate someone so old etc and she will be a one term President.

 

Anyway on a positive note, could have been worse, could have been Hillary.

It doesn't really matter who the GOP nominates, they will be labeled by the Democrat elite as Hitler, and pick and adjective.  You may be right since KK has the complete establishment apparatus behind her (for some reason, wasn't it just a few months ago she was being labeled a drain to Joe's re-election).  I hope not though as if that happens after days and days of counting in some very key districts, it is hard to say what will happen.  More "progress" I guess, more child mutilations, fewer babies being born, etc.
