Green card conditional residency

Hi guys!

have a very interesting situation.

my conditional green card expired back in February. We applied for new green card on time. We applied for removal of conditions to get a 10 year green card. We received a notice of action receipt which allowed us to travel. When we went to Argentina the expired green card was stolen. You have to provide the the notice of action receipt together with expired green card. They issued us a boarding foil in the US embassy there so we can travel back home. They said after you come back home reapply for a new green card (replacement). That’s what we did. But now apparently our I 751 removal of conditions case was annulled. I’m here on illegal status, can’t work or do anything and they say you have to leave and re apply. Does that sound legit or fair? Any of you dealt with this situation before?

What do you mean by "annulled"?  If you could post the document that refers to this (redacting any personal identifiers), you will get better help here.

Who told you this? Was it a USCIS letter? This is not standard procedure.

Who is they? This is not normal. Your status as permanent resident has not been affected in anyway because you do not have a plastic green card with you. You remain a LPR but need to get a new green card by filing an I-90

It seems like your I-751 case was denied.

1. What reason does the denial letter give?

Only an immigration judge can remove your status.

2. How long were you out of the U.S.?

3. Does https://acis.eoir.justice.gov/en/ show a case for you/

I don’t have a document, they told me this on the phone after I couldn’t check the status of my I 751 case on their website. They said it’s not in the system anymore.

A person on the phone from USCIS. My green card was expired though and didn’t receive a decision regarding my I 751 removal of conditions case. And my I 751 was canceled. So I don’t have a legal status now.

My green card was expired though and my I 751 was never approved. I was out of US for two weeks. Doesn’t show anything because they never made a decision yet but they said I can’t work or do anything else including leaving the country.

You have status. There's something wrong here - either your case has been denied and you haven't received your letter yet or there was a glitch on your process or the person you talked on the phone gave you wrong info.

Do not leave the country but I wouldn't stop until I found more about what's going on with my case. The one person on the phone is not the final answer here.

Most tier 1 officers from USCIS are stupider than a pail of hammers.

We here on visa journey know more than most tier 1 officers.

We will guide you now.

1. Do you have an unrestricted SS card?

2. Do you know your A number?

3, Do you have a copy of your GC?

But I need to leave the country soon to see my family. They told I’ll have to wait for 3-4 years and can’t work or leave the country. I don’t want it.

I do have a social security number.

I know my A number as well.

I don’t have a copy of my expired green card at all though.

Ok 2 put of 3 aren’t bad.

1. Do you have state ID or state DL?

2.  Use FOIA to get your entire A file. That should get a copy of your GC

3. Use this process to get an ADIT,

https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-announces-additional-mail-delivery-process-for-receiving-adit-stamp . An ADIT lets you travel.

Yes, but after I leave I won’t be able to come back in because I don’t have any legal documentation, airline won’t put me on flight.
