Hello VJ community!

My name is Jamie and I am the United States Citizen who petitioned (using the I-130) for my husband (who is also named Jamie).

We filed for his adjustment of status (from ESTA) concurrently with my petition.

So, in all, we filed: I-130, I-485, I-864, I-765, and I-131.

Here is a bit about us:

My husband (beneficiary) and I (petitioner) have been dating since the end of 2021. We met online and first met in person on December 31, 2021.

He originally intended on staying with me for only a couple of weeks, but we ended up catching COVID and he stayed for almost a full month! Looking back, we are both glad that this happened because it allowed us time to get to know each other a lot better. After all, we were kind of forced to quarantine together!

Since then (for nearly two years), he has been making the journey from the U.K. to the U.S. (I think he’s visited a total of 6 times now).

I did go to the U.K. with him in April/May to see his university and meet his family! On this trip, I fell off of a rock climbing wall and sprained both of my ankles badly. I could not walk for the rest of the trip (which was very tricky because you walk EVERYWHERE over there haha).

When we came back to the U.S. after our visit to the U.K., I had intended to earn/save enough money for us to go back again in August. However, this ended up proving to be very difficult due to the injuries sustained to my ankles.

I broke the news to my husband that I would not be able to go back to the U.K. with him.

After being in a long-distance relationship for almost two years, he decided that staying with me was more important than his obligations in the U.K. (University). Both of us have suffered greatly each time he and I are forced to be apart.

We decided to elope.

Fast forward to now:  we sent in our AOS package yesterday.

I made this post simply to introduce myself and my husband. I want to be apart of this community because I anticipate having certain questions, uncertainties, and struggles that I may need help with in the future.

I know that was long, but if you made it to the end, thank you for reading! I’m glad to be here.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
