Hi

I am a military spouse and filing N-400 for citizenship.

I stayed in Italy for 3 years as my husband was stationed there, and now back in the States.

I tried to complete the 'Continuous residence and Travel history' for N-400 online but it says I don't qualify because of my absence from the States.

My questions are ;

1. Continuous Residence

I filled out APO AE address and selected the country information to 'Italy'

Should I change the country information to the United States since APO is considered a US territory?

2. Travel History

I filled it out based on my immigration records, including Italy travel history.

Should I delete the Italy record since it is military order?

If you have an experience with this, please share it with me.

It would be really helpful for me!

Thank you!

Hi I know this is an old post, but I had a question - did you remain outside the US as a green card holder for those 3 years? Did CBP allow you back in because you were on orders? I’m currently on orders as a GC holder and worried I’ve abandoned status. I didn’t file for N400
