Hi everyone, I sent my I-693A to Dr. Arnold in Texas to complete as the surgeons here in Louisiana would not complete without a full medical.

When I looked at the copy he sent to me of the I-693A that he completed he put my hep shots A&B as not age appropriate when I had the shots in 2006. (which by the way was on the record of vaccinations I sent him).

Why would he do this when I had the shots already? In my cover letter with my AOS package I explained to them I had the shots (showed them the vaccination record from Canada) and explained that Dr. Aronld did not put the dates in.

Just venting because I am sure they will come back to me saying I needed these shots when I already have them.

Hep A and B are not required for most immigrants to the USA, only Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR), Tetanus and diptheria toxoids, and Varicella. If these are listed as being done on the form then you should be fine.

If you are aged 18 - 64 you do not need these shots, but its nice to have them done for peace of mind anyway.

If the original poster is Canadian, they should have had all of those shots any ways at some point. I handed over my ontario vaccination records and the doc said that was good. All I had to get was a blood test and a tb test. Have you called his office and asked them or got a hold of him? I don't understand why you sent your stuff off instead of getting a full medical. I was advised I had to go and get checked out by a doctor USCIS recommended. So much of this stuff is confusing.

You should just have trusted the Doctor, he did the right thing. Your note on the cover letter will most likely be ignored though, so nothing to worry about.

The OP already had a full medical before coming to the U.S. on a K3. K1 and K3 applicants don't need to do another medical when they're adjusting status. They only need to submit a vaccination worksheet from their foreign medical (works for some people, doesn't work for others) or have a U.S. civil surgeon transfer the information on to a vaccination supplement.

Also not everyone has had every shot required at some point. Depends on age and location in Canada. I had no history of getting a mumps vaccine but have the others so I had to get the MMR because mumps isn't available on its own, just in the combination vaccine. Some of the others like Hep wasn't required in Canada when I was under 19 either.

Yeah, I know it's confusing but you'll get the hang of all the acronyms and visa types soon.

Lana, I wouldn't worry about it too much since Hep isn't required for people over the age of 19. Did you already send your package? If not, I wouldn't bother including the note about already having the Hep vaccine.

Misa- I find that odd because I had to get hep vaccines in school. It was a requirement. I assumed every province would treat those things the same way! I guess not.

Also, I did not realize he was already a K3 before he applied for AOS. Makes perfect sense now.
