[...] Here's the hitch.  Trump has never been convicted of insurrection, and none of his prosecutors -- not Jack Smith nor Fani Willis -- is charging him with insurrection.  The House of Representatives impeached him, accusing him of insurrection, but he was acquitted.  So, zero convictions, one acquittal.

Even so, left-wing group Free Speech For People has sent letters to state election officials, including the co-chairs of the New York State Board of Elections, labeling Trump an insurrectionist and telling these officials they have a duty to remove Trump from the ballot, just as they would be obligated to remove any presidential aspirant who had not reached the age of 35 or was not a natural born citizen.

 

Under this scheme, if Trump wants to be on the ballot, he'll have to go to court and prove his innocence.  [...]

Democrats and so called "progressives" don't give a you know what about free speech, or for that matter any other parts of the Constitution.  Obama said it, and I am sure other "progressives" as well, of how restrictive the Constitution is toward the government.  Darned ,Founding Fathers, they actually were against oppressive governments the "progressives" so desire.

Trump civil fraud trial in New York will last nearly three months, judge says

Judge Arthur Engoron said in an order that the bench trial, set to begin on Oct. 2, is not expected to wrap up until Dec. 22

The Manhattan trial will be a bench trial, meaning there's no jury and the case will be decided by the judge. Engoron said he'll hear the case five days a week. 

James' office will have 90 minutes for an opening statement, while the Trumps will have two hours, the judge said.

Judge Tanya Chutkan of the D.C. Federal District Court has ruled that the trial there against Trump will begin March 4, 2024.  Many have already commented on how badly that will impact candidate Trump subjectively, given the electoral calendar's Super Tuesday primaries the next day.  Attention should also be directed to how Democrat "justice" is being imposed on defendant Trump in objective terms.

Rahmani also said it was a loss for federal special counsel Jack Smith as well as for Willis, and speculated that Smith might wonder "why Willis took a 'kitchen sink' approach instead of the more targeted strategy that he did, charging only Trump."

I think it also allows these two to potentially file an appeal if found guilty even before the others are brought to trial.
