The indictment notes that, following the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago last August, questions were raised about De Oliveira’s loyalty among Trump’s orbit. According to the indictment, Trump called De Oliveira “and told De Oliveira that Trump would get De Oliveira an attorney.”

He is currently represented by John Irving. Trump’s super PAC Save America has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to law firms that were ushering Nauta, De Oliveira and Taveras through the probe, including during times they spoke to the federal criminal investigators. 

It isn’t clear yet how the new set of charges will affect those lawyer relationships.

Enough With Half Measures, Throw All U.S. Code at Trump
 

I have a suggestion for Jack Smith, one of Joe Biden’s official Rottweilers in charge of taking out Donald Trump. Throw the book at him. I mean the whole book.

 

So far, Smith has taken a sort of piecemeal approach to suffocating the former president. His opening gambit was a 37-count felony indictment over Trump’s possession and handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach. A couple of days ago, he added three more counts and yet another defendant, Trump employee Carlos De Oliveira, to the list.

But I say: enough with half measures. The obscenely bloated, contradictory, and embarrassing compendium of the laws that supposedly govern this country is known as the U.S. Code.

 

Among other things, it is a monument to the malevolent frivolousness of the people we elect to govern us. The Greek lawgiver Solon believed that a good society should have few laws but that those laws ought to be strictly and impartially enforced.

 

Among the most amusing video clips I have seen recently was Jack Smith’s first announcement of his indictment of Trump. “We have one set of laws in this country,” Smith said, face straight as a meter stick, “and they apply to everyone.” I’m not sure when I have laughed so hard.

 

Hunter Biden was unavailable for comment. So was his dear old Dad, “the Big Guy.” So, for that matter, was Sam Bankman-Fried, swindler and mega donor to the Democrats, who just saw a campaign finance violation against him dropped because, like Hunter, he is a member of a protected class. Did I mention that Bankman-Fried was the number 2 top donor (after George Soros) to the Dems, having contributed some $70 million to its coffers over 18 months?

I do like  your idea    to Throw the Book at Trump 😂   He îs a One Man Crime Wave  as Christie put it. 
 

The added charges may be as a result of Employee 4 giving him up post indictment. 
 

If Republicans take the White House ..you know they will deal him a Get Out Jail Free card for all of Jack’s cases ..BUT we have Georgia ..and that they cannot touch .

I do appreciate your thoughts and crafty post..and though your grave concerns over Biden ‘s impecability ( oops you may have meant impeachability ) …Trump crimes stand and merit scrutiny on their own.

Unless of course you are ok with all of the texts, video , audio and witness statements that so far back up every charge. And as you pointed out..Jack has a great deal more reserved for trial. 

 

The Others ..will face their own battles if / when the wheels of Justice turn…

Trump's proposed crimes (I know, you already have him convicted based on your hero, the much reversed Jack Smith), may have some merit as many have been prosecuted and convicted for handling what the government bureaucrats label as "Classified", "Top Secret", etc., but as usual you seem to show your acceptance of the two tier justice system which is what Roger Kimball was referring to.  I agree with him, I laughed and laugh hysterically when the hypocrites like Jack Smith, or Garland, or KJ "diversity hire" P come out and profess "no one is above the law!".  Well show us that is in fact true by prosecuting all high profile politicians for mishandling material our more and more oppressive government bureaucrats do not want us to see.  Hillary sent her top secret info to Carlos Danger, Old Corrupt Joe spread his all over the place between DE and PA and let his lawyers and more than likely the Chinese without clearance sift through it (probably after Hunter).  All these have merit, and yet we get one over zealous (yes, this has been demonstrated) carrying the water for the Biden's and going after Old Corrupt Joe's political opponent (hmm, sounds a lot like a Putin, or Zelenskyy, and yes, Zelenskyy is definitely jailing his political opponents currently in Ukraine).  Anyway, I guess that is all fine with you as apparently you either turn a blind eye to the corruption, or you ignore it due to liking a Leftist regressive ideology.  

 

If the DOJ really wants to regain credibility with everyone, and not just the easily gaslighted, they need to start going after everyone the same way, and not give anyone regardless of their name or position a break.  It should not have taken five plus years to investigate a tax cheat like the Biden family (hmm, is someone trying to run out the clock at the DOJ?).

 

Whatever, more than likely deaf ears considering the desire for maintain "slow, steady and corrupt" in DC.  Let them prosecute Trump (I wonder when Superman Jack Smith will argue for a change of venue to get this case to DC so he can get a gaslighted Leftist jury), I will still support him over institutional corruption in DC.

Yes, I know, guilty until proven innocent.  Kind of sad how the US criminal justice system works today particularly when it is a political prosecution.  My understanding is this is how it works in some other countries.

 

Btw, the Biden hoarding of classified documents was a much worse situation as these documents have been in his possession unsecured (next to the Vette, in the Chinese financed UPenn office, etc.) for years.  Sure he gave some back after he had his lawyers with no security clearance review everything, and possibly scrub incriminating information, but sure keep believing Old Corrupt Joe was simply following orders (seems he wasn't following the rules when he absconded with the information).  I do see you conveniently left off Hillary, I don't believe she returned anything, she in fact obstructed any investigation relative to erasing the server first.

 

Whatever, Biden's lapdog Jack Smith will continue to pull charges out delaying this for years.  It will be fun to watch.

Yes , Nauta had the same delay…but since Defendant #1 is bankrolling the attorneys , resources are not the issue , so I give due credit to defense for a bit of say in timeline
