Btw, I am a confirmed Independent.  I have a history of voting for Democrats in the past, but in their current direction (racist identity politics), I cannot support them.  I also believe a lot of GOP members in DC are very bad, but for some reason the overwhelming share of the DC elite are Leftist/Democrats and that includes a lot of the bureaucracy.  Now of course we see some respectable bureaucrats occasionally like the most recent IRS agents, but mostly DC is all about protecting the political elite.  This should not happen.

I believe I have been very careful at not defending criminal acts. If the evidence supports the conclusion that what DJT did was indeed criminal, he should be prosecuted accordingly.

 

What I will defend is his right to equal process under the law, which it is quite evident has not been and will not be afforded him.

 

if he is to be prosecuted, then make it a clean prosecution, not driven by hyper-partisan political grandstanding and questionable ethical and moral practices, as has been the whole drive to prosecute him for something, anything, thus far.

 

in addition, the long arm of the law needs to be applied equally. So far, only DJT has been subject to this level of persecution. For similar offenses, some even more egregious, those on the opposite side of the political aisle have skated free, through lack of “intent”, lack of mental capacity and sheer Democrat-ness. The law is supposed to be blind, but the current drive to avoid prosecuting crimes from the left is driving the disillusionment of the American public. This session of the Supreme Court has been the most bipartisan in a while, but you wouldn’t know it through all the screaming from the Left.

 

America cannot survive without some semblance of fairness and balance in the justice system.

I have no preferred pronouns, fee free to use what ever you want. I am not a Leftist snowflake that gets offended by stupid stuff.  Back in my firefighter days, I was called a lot of things and never once ever thought to complain to anyone.  I guess we have much weaker folks now.  Progress?

 

Like @Pooky, I never once defended any criminal acts that Trump may have committed, and only commented on the two tier system for the DC elite and those that do not belong in that club.  Trump and many others are not deemed worthy of the DC club that allows for justifiable corruption which you seem to be so eager to defend or at the very least not acknowledge is occurring.  Let's have one system of Justice and no special treatments for anyone please.  I am game for that, but I want to see an example, indict Joe Biden for mishandling and disseminating classified information, then Hillary, then Trump, and then Pence (although I am not certain that Trump or Pence disseminated anything).

I think  his base accepts that he was just found guilty of sexual assault and doesn’t bat an eye at the fact that he raped a woman..

 

And let’s not beat around the bush, Jan 6 was a failed coup He  didn’t get enough support to see it through ( military declined martial  law , in house resistance from Pence and others).
