Judge won't let Trump delay E. Jean Carroll penalties, leaving him with days to cover $83M judgment

A New York judge on Thursday denied Donald Trump's request for a temporary delay of the penalties in E. Jean Carroll's defamation case, leaving the former president three days to pay or post a bond for the entire $83.3 million judgment.

Judge Lewis Kaplan signaled he is still considering Trump's request for a reduced bond or a delay until the resolution of his post-trial motions.

"Mr. Trump's current situation is a result of his own dilatory actions," Kaplan wrote in his order late Thursday. "He has had since January 26 to organize his finances with the knowledge that he might need to bond this judgment, yet he waited until 25 days after the jury verdict ... to file his prior motion for an unsecured or partially secured stay pending resolution of post-trial motions."

My conclusions:

1.  Biden's condition is worse than we thought.

2.  Raskin, Nadler, and the other democrat questioners are clowns who insult our intelligence.

3.  Biden spread classified documents across 3 states for 40 years.

I handled classified documents for about 20 years (including time as a Titan II ICBM launch crew member in the 70s & 80s, and as a missile systems maintenance superintendent dealing with very sensitive (black project) weapon systems.  I generated classified documents at times).   I would be in Leavenworth prison right now had I taken any of those documents out of assigned areas for any reason....even the one I created.

The High Price of Democrats' Anti-Trump Lawfare

The newest buzzword in our politics is lawfare, or using the legal system as a weapon against a political opponent.  It sits before us now as a spectacle of political gluttony.  How many lawsuits, court motions and judgments against Donald Trump can the Democratic Party chow down?  More disturbing is the high price the American system may pay for this excess.  [...]

I doubt A President DJT or his administration would engage in lawfare. I suspect there will be other targets he will be busy dealing with.

But I would bet a large amount of money that the Democrats will escalate their lawfare to try to obstruct a DJT presidency, even more so than in his first administration.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

So far each of the 4 cases  on the menu are stalled. …as a result of Defendant legal play.
Considering three civil cases against him filed by Jan 6 victims have just been green lighted…I still believe if/when Dominion decides to go after him , it will sting

You do understand that it is the defendant that retains the right to a speedy trial, not the state right?

Does the public have a right to a speedy trial in the Trump case?

The U. S. Constitution and the constitution of most states (except California, Article I, Section 29), however, only grant “the accused” — not “the prosecution” — a speedy trial right. Does that end the discussion? Meaning, can a defendant in the courtroom of a sympathetic judge simply accomplish having his case delayed in futuronotwithstanding the demands of a vigilant prosecutor? Or is there somehow an inchoate right to a speedy trial possessed by the prosecutor and the public too

The federal Speedy Trial Act, Title 18 U. S. Code, Section 3161, provides that the appropriate judicial officer shall promptly set any case for trial on a date certain “so as to assure a speedy trial” — not simply a speedy trial for the defendant. And Rule 2 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure states that the purpose of the federal rules is “to eliminate unjustifiable expense and delay” — not just an “unjustifiable delay” by the court or prosecutor

So are you suggesting the motions being filed are unreasonable?
