This judge sounds like a really well educated Leftist.  Doesn't he know that tax assessments are not related to the actual value of real estate or property?  I wonder, when this idiot judge last purchased property, if he ordered the bank to use the tax assessment as the valuation instead of requiring an actual appraisal?

The director of the school of real estate at Florida International University, Eli Beracha, tells the Sun that the metric used by the judge is “not a good way to value the property” and is “not the right approach.” He adds that real estate professionals “don’t even look at county appraisal data,” which Judge Engoron relied on in rendering summary judgment. 

 

Mr. Beracha adds that “any real estate professional would say that market value and county appraisal are not the same thing,” and that it is “not the job of the county appraiser to assess value.” If it was, he explains, “we wouldn’t need Zillow.” County officials, like the ones in Palm Beach County that Judge Engoron cites, merely perform “drive-by appraisals” that are used to assess taxes, not total value.

In a letter dated Feb. 9to the Trump Organization's executive vice president and chief legal officer, Mazars' attorney warned that financial statements from 2011 to 2020 "should no longer be relied upon" and said the company should inform any recipients of that information not to depend on those files.

Wow, you certainly have trouble with relevance.  This was in 2022, and has no relevance to how the idiot judge valued property.  Do you have anything to add to that?

 

As to the Mazar's, apparently they were hired for compilation, and based on the reporting, they do not seem to have much to offer.  Whatever, Lucy is still holding the football, and we still have Old Corrupt, Petulant Joe running things.  Enjoy your idiot President, maybe you can vote in someone else in the Democrat Primary.

Bender testified that he did not investigate the truth of the financial statements and that the Trump Organization was responsible for following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, the rules governing the financial procedures that public companies must follow. The attorney general's office alleges that the company did not.

Asked if Mazars undertook any procedures to ensure Trump's 2011 statement of financial condition was correct, Bender said: "No, we did not."

Apparently this absurd law does not need a victim.  Seems like a waste of the courts time when they should be serving actual victims.  Also sends a message to those doing business in NY.  "Keep the proper politics, support the regressive policies, or we will go after you".  The idiot judge was asked what the plan was to dissolve the Trump business in NY, and he had no plan.  Whatever, political prosecutions are a way of the totalitarian state.

odd that my state has zero input from the owner and relies on county paid tax assessors.......

And those assessment are only very loosely correlated to the actual value (being only drive by).  Mortgage companies and banks do not even look at them.  With the Trump prosecution and the judge already finding he is responsible for fraud, does this mean anyone who challenges their tax assessment in NY and is unsuccessful and be prosecuted like Trump?

Ah those pesky accounting rules ..but do keep in mind the Trump Org has already been found liable for fraud and his staff are on the witness list
