Trump wants classified documents trial delayed until after 2024 election

 

“Proceeding to trial during the pendency of a Presidential election cycle wherein opposing candidates are effectively (if not literally) directly adverse to one another in this action will create extraordinary challenges in the jury selection process and limit the Defendants’ ability to secure a fair and impartial adjudication,” attorneys for Trump and his personal aide and co-defendant, Walt Nauta, said in a court filing Monday night.

I suspect the Democrats and DC Deep State also want the trial delayed.

I think prosector will fight for a speedy trial, delay is purely in defendant’s favor but the argument it’s based on is not compelling. Here is where we see Judge Cannon do her stuff…and legal team for both sides truly begin the fight.

Looking at this from a purely political point of view, I believe the current administration and the Democrat part as a whole will not have a problem letting this case slide until after the election.

 

Delay gives them a ready-made talking point through the 2024 election cycle, should DJT be the GOP nominee, and, should he regain the White House, his next term’s Russigate hoax substitute.

 

The downside to this strategy is that it is glaringly obvious and will lead to more criticism of the DOJ as a partisan, politicized arm of the current administration. But there is so much of this going on already, I really doubt they will give a Flying Burrito Brother about the optics.

You do realize the prosecutor is being controlled by a corrupt leader right?  I am not a big fan of Mitch McConnell, but thankfully he kept Garland off the Supreme Court.

That would go against the Democrat strategy.  They need to keep suppressing the Biden corruption and overall train wreck, and if the Trump stuff ends fast, and someone like DeSantis or Tim Scott or any other Republican candidate wins the GOP primary, Biden and the Democrats are toast even if the Democrats replace Biden with Newsom.

The actions of Trump with reference to classified docs / national security do not leave anything to the imagination, or interpretation for that matter. It baffles the mind that anyone would excuse / condone them…

 

Much like the fake electors and Georgia fiasco. 
 

I appreciate power plays and dirty fights ..but those are high stakes games and he lost ..let’s see how he fares in court .

Again you are completely ignoring the political aspect to this prosecution.  Of course the Garland led DOJ wants this in December right before the GOP primaries begin as they are angling to make sure Trump wins as that is the only chance for Old Corrupt Joe.  I know, slow, steady and corrupt...
