Efficiency?  How many years did it take for the politicized DOJ to come up with the Hunter Biden plea deal?  Also, there is nothing wrong with plea deals, the stats are correct, but most of those deals include some level of incarceration for the same crimes the Biden family and other Democrats seem to get away with.

I do not agree, just quoted the source that pleas are how it's handled.

Hunter should have never been offered a deal on the gun charge, and to my knowledge I am not aware of any plea bargains being offered to Trump.  Besides, I think Trump is doing this for the attention and to show the sad political state of the DOJ as evident by how they treated Hunter.  I do wonder how Wesley Snipes feels

The prosecutor was a Trump political appointee, left in position to pursue the Hunter probe. He openly responded to the MAGA Republicans in Congress : ‘ I had ultimate authority “ over the case.

U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who reportedly made a plea deal with Hunter Biden this week, wrote to House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) earlier in the month that he had “ultimate authority” over the probe.

Weiss, who was appointed in 2018 by former President Donald Trump, had investigated Hunter Biden’s conduct for five years and has reportedly agreed for the president’s son to plead guilty on two federal misdemeanor counts for tax violations, which do not carry prison sentences. A separate gun-related felony count will be dismissed as long as Hunter Biden complies with a diversion program that will require him to abstain from drug use.

Weiss, who was appointed in 2018 by former President Trump …

Now this is disinformation.

David Weiss was put forward for the nomination for US Attorney for Delaware by the two Democrat senators from the state and had their full support.

He is most certainly NOT a DJT partisan, no matter the media spin.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

Defendants attorneys receive discovery. Likely long delays in store , trademark tactic by Trump who has been a defendant approx 3,500 times in various labor and civil claims, with over 4000 lawsuits on his resume.

Special counsel gives Trump's team first batch of evidence in classified documents case

Prosecutors said in the filing that the documents include evidence obtained through subpoena and search warrants; transcripts of grand jury testimony in Washington, D.C., and Florida; witness interviews conducted through last month; and excerpts of closed-circuit television footage

The first production of unclassified discovery includes “the grand jury testimony of witnesses who will testify for the government at this case,” according to the filing.

Prosecutors also said that Trump’s team can contact the government to arrange inspection of any unclassified items seized at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort on Aug.

Judge in Trump docs case denies special counsel's request to keep list of 84 witnesses under wraps

In a separate order, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon scheduled a July 14 hearing to discuss how classified materials will be handled in the case.

Federal prosecutors had asked U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, to keep under seal a list of witnesses who Trump is barred from communicating with directly about the case

Trump heard on CNN tape discussing secret documents

Hear the conversation

Listen to audio exclusively obtained by CNN of a July 2021 conversation during which former President Donald Trump acknowledges he held on to a classified Pentagon document about a potential attack on Iran.

The recording, which first aired on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” includes new details from the conversation that is a critical piece of evidence in special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment of Trump

Bush-appointed judge slams GOP’s ‘spineless support’ of Trump

The former president’s behavior may have invited charges, but the Republicans’ spineless support for the past two years convinced Mr. Trump of his political immortality, giving him the assurance that he could purloin some of the nation’s most sensitive national security secrets upon leaving the White House — and preposterously insist that they were his to do with as he wished — all without facing political consequences,” Luittig wrote in an op-ed

Trump Lawyers Targeted by Dark Money Group

[...] The Washington Post, for example, quoted various anonymous sources who claimed that Trump's reputation as a "challenging client" caused several prominent lawyers to turn him down.  In reality, the problem resulted from an intimidation campaign by a radical pressure group called the 65 Project, whose explicit mission is to ruin any lawyer willing to represent Trump.  [...]

Defendant Trump reacts to leaked audio tape :

The former president also claimed in the post that the audio and its transcript are an "exoneration."

"The Deranged Special Prosecutor, Jack Smith, working in conjunction with the DOJ & FBI, illegally leaked and 'spun' a tape and transcript of me which is actually an exoneration, rather than what they would have you believe," Trump said. "This continuing Witch Hunt is another ELECTION INTERFERENCE Scam. They are cheaters and thugs!"

This seems to be a sensible argument.  Comments?

The irrelevancy of the CNN tape of Trump implying a document is classified

[...] whether looked at through the filter of substantive law, Trump's personality, or inadmissible evidence, it's a completely useless revelation [...]
