LOS ANGELES — Three of Lizzo’s former dancers have accused the singer of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment in a lawsuit filed Tuesday. They also allege that she pressured one of them to touch a nude performer at an Amsterdam club and subjected the group to an “excruciating” audition after leveling false accusations that they were drinking on the job.

The dancers accused Lizzo — a performer known for embracing body positivity and celebrating her physique — of calling attention to one dancer’s weight gain and later berating, then firing, that dancer after she recorded a meeting because of a health condition.

The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and provided to NBC News by the plaintiffs’ law firm, also accuses the captain of Lizzo’s dance team of proselytizing to other performers and deriding those who had premarital sex while sharing lewd sexual fantasies.

The suit does not say if Lizzo knew about the allegations linked to the dance captain, Shirlene Quigley, but the plaintiffs believed the singer was aware of their complaints about her, according to their lawyer, Ron Zambrano.

As a person who has struggled with weight. I have been in tip top run 15 miles in the summer bench 400lbs shape and been very overweight.  Now as I age I carry a little extra weight. Size 36 to 38.

 

But I dress for it. For the life of me I don't understand all these morbidly obese, women mostly, running around in short yoga stretch pants like they are proud of it.

As a side note I take Ozempic for type 2 diabetes.  My doctor recently got a 2mg weekly dose approved, wich is the weight loss dose. 1 MG weekly is the therapy dose for diabetes.  It flat kills your appetite.

This whole thing has been rumored for a while, but for the life of me I wish the complaint in the case would make better sense? 

 

We've got a 'den mother dance captain' person that has been known in some circles as a very problematic individual and she is discriminating and aggressively harassing some of the girls because of their sexual history. But then we go to strip clubs and other sexual behavior that this woman seems to be encouraging 'her girls' to do all while proselytizing? Confusing. Lizzo seems to back up the dance captain's behavior, at least with long schedules and strip club trips but I'm not sure I'm seeing what else is the problem except for bullying/diva behavior (which is not new allegations about this gal). Weight shaming claim seems odd, coming from a performer that usually uses plus size dancers, a rarity in the business and loves to flaunt it herself.

Well Lizzo has generally been proud of it. Her crew is overweight but can spend hours dancing on stage, so they still have some kind of fitness. I don't necessarily understand it either, as I prefer tasteful clothing for any size, but I would say it is good that she has promoted fitness gear and other items for large women. Afterall if big girls are being told they need to exercise, they can't do it in paper sacks. And she has lost a good deal of weight herself. But yeah I see a lot of ladies just rolling out of bed wearing 'clothes' that do not fit them at all. On the flip side I don't understand the ladies that get all dressed up and make an effort, but the guys they are with look like they just were spat out from a tornado.
