Hi everyone!

I have been looking for the "next step after NOA2 to NVC" and I am currently viewing the PDF (found it from this first post notes)  which is created on 2020 Jun with 19 pages inside.

I am wondering the timeline and steps are still the same or any change ??

It seems like we have to just wait the case number or call NVC to ask for the NVC number "That is within 1-2 months"?

Thank you.

The timeline isn't exactly the same. Although USCIS seems to be forwarding petitions to NVC faster than a couple of months ago, NVC is now taking its time to assign case numbers.

Now it takes around 3 months to get a case number, some people had to wait slightly less, but the mark seems to be 90 days.

Keep in mind, NVC phone lines have been taken down a few months ago so you can't call them, but you can send them an email. I'd suggest a first inquiry after 30 days and you can use either NVCResearch@state.gov or the public inquiry form here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html . Use NVC Research if you don't know if your petition has reached NVC yet, they're faster and generally more accurate!

Hi All! I received my NOA2 exactly 12 months after we received NOA1! Yay! But what concerns me is - my NOA2 has "expiration date" of December 2023. Isn't it too close? What if NVC takes longer than that, then all that wait is for nothing? And what exactly needs to be done prior to that expiration date?

Thank you all in advance! And good luck to us all!

This is the same question we have...the timeline appears to be a 90 day wait but that is not gaurenteed. I'm not going to worry about things that havent happened yet but it is a good question.
