Can US family members go with foreign students to the point of entry window

Hi, my question is can a u.s citizen family member go with a student visa holder (over 18) also go up to same the point of entry window and talk to the officer?

 

My wife niece is coming back with us from the Philippines on a F visa for the first time can one of us or both all go together up to the window and which line should we use?

Everyone talks on their own. 

 

But yiu all can use non-immigrant line

most allow the visa holder to go to USC line when the USC is with them

MIL  came on tourist visa and my USC husband took her to USC line with him

Go where the helpers tell you to go. It differs with every airport and it also changes hour by hour… explain your situation and they will direct you to the correct line. If your niece is nervous about standing in line alone you can explain that… but she might have to talk to CBP alone.

Situation might be viewed differently as it is aunt with niece 18+ and we don’t know if aunt is USC or just the aunt’s husband…
