B2 visa lie as visiting a friend years later now we married and applying CR1

The "beneficiary" is the visa applicant.  The USC is the visa petitioner.

 

So:

If I’m remembering correctly, the 130/130A asks if you’ve every been denied a US visa (double check on that, as I filled ours out over a year ago now). If that is asked…Did you answer  truthfully and state you have been denied a tourist visa in the past? If you failed to disclose, that would likely give you an issue, strictly due to lying.

In this case, you're lucky the IO twigged that you weren't being entirely honest and denied the tourist visa.  No issues here.

The I-130/I-130A doesn't ask, but the DS-260 form does.  OP should definitely disclose the denied B visa application on the DS-260.

As others have already said a tourist visa denial won't impact you with the CR1 (unless the reason was for something serious like crime etc.). I had both a B2 tourist and ESTA denial when I applied. I mentioned the B2 denial in my application and it never came up during my interview but I did get asked at the border when I immigrated why my ESTA was denied so just be prepared for an answer in case. I remember being a bit thrown off with how to answer but it was a non-issue.

Yes  but in our case we were dating I just said we were only friends.  I just hope they  dont try to question me about it . I just have him she sure our dates when we started dating are not during that time lol

Was the friend mentioned in the denied tourist visa application the same person the beneficiary married?

Yup my name was on the ds160  so I know when he goes to the interview they probably will ask for dates when we dated and question him more , we  just have to be ready for questions.

Be honest. Don’t lie. Tell them the real timeline. 
Consulates are very familiar with the “I’m just visiting my friend” song and dance… they don’t believe it and then you marry and move to the US on the correct visa. It’s a very common story. Don’t worry at all about the denied petition…. Just make sure to tell the truth at interview.

Well we didn’t married  until few years later so it wasn’t something that happen after the denied . Wouldn’t that matter ? They see it wasn’t really to move to the US . We took our time.

yes… so you have nothing to worry about. I had a friend who was denied 3 times for the tourist visa and he was able to move to the US on the spousal visa many years later…

You are still messing things up when you describe your case, talking about ”him" being interviewed, when, from what I've understood so far, you are the husband/foreigner/beneficiary/person that will be interviewed.

 

If you are all over the place when posting, it might get worse during interview.

It looks like both parties are using the same account to post questions and responses, I think that's where the confusion is coming from.

You need to tell the truth during the interview.  We are giving you this advice, but it is difficult to give advice when your posts are confusing.  Bottom line:  best to tell the truth.

Well we can’t go in   There and be like by the way we lie 7 years ago.  That’s automatically denied . So best option is to make sure  our dates when starting dating is not around that time. I mean there is no way they can tell we were dating. There’s nothing online if the check saying that.
